Quora, if you aren’t familiar with it, is a cross between a Q&A site and social media site.
It’s has it’s flaws, but it have a couple of major good points as well. Some of the main good points for me are people there expect and appreciate long ass essays and the moderation policy (which admittedly is part of the flaws) is still far better than Facebook or similar and keeps the toxic bullshit to minimum.
Quoa is what I call my stretch zone. It is one of the places I go to actively engage with people who have radically different opinions. In the process I’ve learned a lot, and I like to think I’ve helped others learn too.
Topics I tend to write about on Quora are:
Every few weeks I do a “Taking Questions” on Quora where I name a topic and people can ask me to answer their questions about that topic. If there’s a topic you’d like to see me tackle, send me a PM on Quora and I’ll see what I can to.
Unfortunately, like Facebook, Quora has a ‘real name’ policy. So my profile there is still under my legal name. Blech.
